What is Plumsmidge Post?

Plumsmidge Post is a cosy snail mail club for readers, set on a magical island called Plumsmidge. Plumsmidge was inspired by the island I call home.


What arrives each month?

Plumsmidge Post is available in two tiers.

 

Tier 1: Fresh Plum

Every month you will receive:

  • A letter from Gem, including a sneak peek of the next month and a link to a playlist to listen to as you enjoy your magical mail.
  • A letter from Penelope Fudge, Plumsmidge's resident writer, with news of the latest Plumsmidge goings-on.
  • An original short story of around 3,000 words.
  • An illustration of the main character in the story.

Fresh Plum is £9.99.

New members of Fresh Plum also receive a Plumsmidge membership card and a vinyl sticker featuring the Plumsmidge mail mouse. Founding members also receive an adoption certificate for a Plumsmidge moon rabbit and will receive further updates for the duration of their subscription.

 

Tier 2: Ripe Plum

Every month you will receive:

  • A letter from Gem, including a sneak peek of the next month and a link to a playlist to listen to as you enjoy your magical mail.
  • A letter from Penelope Fudge, Plumsmidge's resident writer, with news of the latest Plumsmidge goings-on.
  • An original short story of around 3,000 words.
  • An illustration of the main character in the story.
  • The front page of The Royal Plum newspaper.
  • A conservation card featuring a Plumsmidge creature or botanical.
  • A bookmark from the Plumsmidge book club.
  • A vinyl sticker.
  • And one extra paper treasure.

Ripe Plum is £11.99.

New members of Ripe Plum also receive a Plumsmidge membership card and a vinyl sticker featuring the Plumsmidge mail mouse. Founding members also receive an adoption certificate for a Plumsmidge moon rabbit and will receive further updates for the duration of their subscription.


Who is Penelope?

Penelope is the resident writer on Plumsmidge. Through her letters, newspaper articles, and writings, she shares the stories, mysteries and everyday life of the island with curious readers in the human world.


Is Plumsmidge a real place?

Plumsmidge was inspired by the island I call home. It is an enchanted version of my island and exists somewhere between imagination and reality.

 

Is every edition different?

Yes. Every month introduces new characters, new stories and new happenings from the island, making each envelope a unique chapter in an ever-growing world.


When will I be charged?

When you join, you will be charged immediately for your first month. Your mail will then leave the island on the next 10th of the month. After that, you will always be charged on the 10th of the month.



When will my correspondence be posted?

Correspondence is posted once each month, between the 10th and the 15th. You'll receive an email letting you know when your edition is on its way. Shipping times vary.


Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the UK (where we are based), to the EU, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. We hope to expand further with time and a little extra magic. Shipping costs and delivery times are calculated at checkout. We do not use tracking in order to keep costs low for our subscribers (and also because Penelope doesn't know what tracking is!).


Can I cancel my subscription?

Absolutely. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time before your next renewal.


Is this suitable as a gift?

It makes a wonderful gift for readers, writers, lovers of stationery and anyone who enjoys a little magic arriving through the letterbox.


Is this suitable for children?

Yes! Plumsmidge Post is cosy, magical, whimsical, with touches of humour, slight peril, and is suitable for all ages. The included short story is particularly suited to lovers of middle grade books.

 

Can I purchase back issues?

Yes! Back issues will be available to buy on the website.


I've moved! How do I change my delivery address?

You can update your delivery address anytime through your Manage Subscription portal.


Who creates the correspondence?

Hello! I'm Gem, a writer and illustrator living on the island that inspired this enchanted world. Every edition is imagined, written, illustrated and carefully assembled by hand before making its journey to your letterbox.

 

What if my mail doesn't arrive?
